Work context
Persée is a Joint Services Unit of the ENS de Lyon and the CNRS, which is responsible for the digital promotion of scientific heritage, innovation in tools and methodologies for developing digital corpora, and the dissemination of skills and expertise in these fields. Persée’s services are aimed at researchers, libraries and scientific publishers.
The UMS has embarked on the development of a new IS in order to expand its service offering. Distributed on several virtualized physical infrastructures, it implements recent technologies (CI/CD, openshift, docker, etc.). The robustness and reliability of this new tool, which in the short term will have to take over from the old IS to host not only the production of Perseus (about 30 TO of data online, more than 300,000 consultation sessions per day) but also that of the UMS partner sites, is a major challenge.
Persee is organized into four divisions: the “Documentation” division, which is responsible for document structuring and XML encoding of documents; the “Information Technology and Development” division, which designs, produces, and maintains tools for the use, enrichment, and dissemination of digitized corpora and collections; the “Production” division, which is responsible for the dematerialization of documents and all post-processing of digitized documents; and the “Partnerships and Networks” division, which is responsible for the development of partnerships with research, publishers, libraries, and the CollEx-Persée network.
POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION :
The position reports hierarchically to the head of the “IT and development” division and functionally to the system and network manager. The division also includes 5 developers and a SID manager.
